Book Study

As we move forward in the UMC in a time of uncertainty, it is important to have loving, civil dialogue with each other even when we disagree. Christena Cleveland is a Duke Divinity professor that specializes in social psychology and church reconciliation. Her book, Disunity in Christ, addresses why we vary as a church ideologically, and how to still live in holy communion with each other- differences and all.

The book study will have 4 sessions, all directly after worship in the Ministry Center from 11am-12 on June 9, 16, 23, and 30th. Contact our Minister of Discipleship, Rachel for more information.

Lenten Study

At All Saints', our theme during this season of Lent will be called "Hungry." Each week, Scripture will lead us to wonder what things we are hungry for God to fill in our lives and in our world.

Each Wednesday evening, we will gather in the Sanctuary to explore various spiritual disciplines, which are practices that can feed our hunger for God's presence. Children and Youth will be exploring the same practices as the adults. This will enable families to discuss and practice together at home during the week. Children (ages 5-7th grade) will be invited to participate in our children and youth choirs as part of their formation (Ministry Center Rooms 3 and 5). Youth (8th–12th grade) will gather in Ministry Center Room 4 for a “small group” setting. Using the spiritual disciplines as our guide, we will explore how these different practices assist us in becoming more attuned to God and more engaged in a life of Christian discipleship.
